What makes you so sure?
I’ve come so far and even learned to play guitar.
The world’s a door; fame and fortune are the keys.
Exempt from daily labor like those teenagers on TV.
Fortunately,
They work hard to maintain a life of excess,
Silver spoon in the hand,
And I dedicate all my life to practice,
Ever the humble fan.
Doing as they command. (As they command)
I’m old enough now to recognize what really counts.
Collect some cash so I can die with lots of cash.
The paupers sing my praises amidst the faces on TV.
Immortality.
Oh, what I wouldn’t give to live on the big screen,
Name up there in the lights, and that’s nice,
But I’m almost fucking nineteen.
I offer this advice.
Kid, don’t waste your life. (Don’t’ waste your life)

Kings and Commoners
03:25
|
|||
Falling out, crawling in, it’s about to begin.
Great halls, realm of kings, voices echo, governing everything.
Atop gilded thrones, shine forever, graven with precious stones.
Upon their word, we once were all content to join the herd,
and learn our worth, as righteous men, the servants of the earth.
But it’s too late. Our faith is not enough to compensate
for what they do. The commoners convene and call a coup.
Dominate or depend, but today is the end.

Clemency
04:34
|
|||
Never again, good riddance.
All of the pictures hidden.
This was the right decision,
But years from now I’ll remember and wonder if we made a mistake.
(Verse)
And sure there’s a possibility I was wrong, but I don’t agree.
You’re just like these dead end days dreams,
Silly, sexy, short, and sweet.
I’ll do my best to keep it simple.
Don’t try to talk to me.
I’m just a dick wad
Who doesn’t deserve your clemency.
We were always so good at finding
The meanest things to say.
Why should today be any different?
Baby, go away.
Eager and blind combatants
Gladly accept the challenge
But never find a balance
In time to uncover anything truly worth what it weighs in gold.
(Verse)
Between their two personalities, seeking truth in a fallacy.
Sometimes all you really can do
Is look and listen, live and learn.
(Chorus)
Well you wanted someone enigmatic, and you had it.
But it take so much more than mysterious eyes.
Though when he tries, he can be so romantic,
It’s not what you had in mind.
And I wanted someone complicated, but I hated
Everyday that we fought over trivial things
Because it only brings to my heart cynicism.
And you wanted a ring.
(Chorus)

Both Sides, Roll On
03:14
|
|||
Our banners wave
in reverence,
in victory.
The battlefields are fertile and green.
A testament,
A legacy,
for patriots,
a history of crimson and steel.
Both sides, roll on.
The changing tides are justified on both sides.
Roll on, both sides.
With heaven up overhead and hell down underheel,
a history of crimson and steel.
Hero, fight and die.
Before you go I hope you know you're my hero.
Fight and die, hero.

LADADA
02:29
|
|||
I dismiss your vague attempts at science
And refuse to flatter omnipresent giants.
Ladada, chemical warfare,
Anthrax in the open air.
We don’t have the time to rest
So I suggest
You place your faith in America
And share in our prosperity
Until anarchy.
Apologize and beg to be
Forgiven by my enemies
For each of your discrepancies.
There are those who would choose non-existence
If ever we discovered time and space were endless.
Ladada, something has gone wrong.
Dodging all the atom bombs.
Annihilate anyone
Who tries to run
And don’t forget, Armageddon will still come
Despite the loyal words
Of your followers.
A gaping hell is left unlocked.
I’m free to sell my paradox.
If all is well then sing
Ladada
The one that you belong to is afraid,
With a million miles of nothing in the way.

Our boy, Andy, is doing hard time.
Never in his life, has Andy committed a crime, but so what?
Everyone says, justice is a concept we’ve invent to endure the ages
on our own.
When the lines
have been drawn,
we’ll see
just how long
someone
can go on
seeking a peaceful dawn.
Well, we aren’t getting any closer to it,
and Andy is still behind bars,
paying for an evening he spent drinking in his car long ago.
Listen to me. It’s not like I want to die,
but don’t take living so seriously.
Our boy, Andy, has made it along
by keeping track of years gone by and listening to a song from some opera.
He never gives in. But, hope is something dangerous, and you’re better off without it in prison
because it drives
us to
survive
much longer
than
we might
if truth
was ever brought to light.
Well, it all depends of on the way you see it
and Andy won’t let it go.
He honestly believes that soon he’ll be in Mexico near the shoreline.
But it’s over and done. If only for a moment,
I wish I had half that much passion.
Maybe someday, but I say
Some flaws are better left unresolved.
I am the pandering machine.
No one’s gotten sick of me and it’s been almost seven centuries.
I am the pandering machine.
Why mess with success, when I know this progression sells CDs?
I am the pandering machine.
Not only in music, everybody breathing uses me.
I am the pandering machine.
I manufacture trends at 100% efficiency.

Red

She has lovely red hair.
That’s all I really know about her,
And that’s all I need to know about her.
She has lovely red hair,
And maybe I would feel better
If I could just decapitate her.
If you’re afraid, you’ve overestimated me.
Can you believe in love without naivety?
Quickly remind myself,
Infatuation was adapted just to help
The birds and bees
In order to preserve a species
Of precocious apes.
Analyze it all you want, there’s no escape.
And there’s always going to be someone, make no mistake.
So what is there to do but participate?
She has beautiful skin.
That’s all I really know about her,
And that’s all I need to know about her.
She has beautiful skin.
How deep does beauty reach, I wonder.
It’s my intention to discover.
If you’re afraid you’ve overestimated me.
Can you believe in love without naivety?
Again, remind myself,
It’s serotonin down my spine, nothing else.
Extend my arms,
Find another mammal who’s warm
And become its mate.
Analyze it all you want, there’s no escape.
And there’s always going to be someone, make no mistake.
So what is there to do but participate?
A voice within cries, sensations arise,
Paralyzed by animal eyes.
Come on.
Keep thinking about certainties and doubts
Spouted loudly out of our mouths.
Come on.
Is this really everything?
I’m disappointed.
I don’t enjoy it.
My solace lies in apathy.

LADADA Part II
01:52
|
|||
You know full and well
We’ll spend the afterlife in hell
With all our negativity.
Marching steadily towards doom
Are the disciples who
No longer crave milk of honey.
